How are things gang? I know it has been a while since I have visited this site and I do truly apologize for that... I have had a rough couple of years that has had me consumed. However, this will all soon be over within the next 2 months. It will be questionable if I will actually be ready to play in a game but I am ready to bring this team together again and venture forth in planning an event this year.
As such, I am giving everyone notice that I will be actively pursuing a game this year that will be in the mid-west or on the west coast. Where we go will be up to all of you as my funds will be a bit tight and I will not be able to contribute as much to the gathering as I have in the past. I give EVERYONE my word that I will do the best to give as much as I can and be sure that we are represented well on the field and off.
The first step of this process, of course, is getting people to commit as early as possible. I still have all the stats from everyone that was a part of this team in the past but I would like everyone that wants to play to re-submit their data. Also, for everyone that plans to play, please start saving your money NOW!!! We have at least 6 months before we would be traveling so plan accordingly. Initially, if everyone could plan to commit to a minimum of $350.00, I am sure that I could get airfare, hotel, team jerseys and game tickets for everyone.
Now this doesn't mean that people within a 1 - 6 hour drive is going to fly. Also, some of the money that you contribute will help other team mates from further away get there. However, you have to stop and think about what it would cost you to get a hotel room for the weekend and tickets to the game if you went at it alone...
The past events ranged in cost from $5000.00 to $9,000.00. The last game, the JETS fans backed out on us, being the most expensive. We had 16 members/players that participated in that weekend in Jersey. That equated to approximately $560.00 per person on average. We raised $2500.00 through the site and $100.00 given per person. I sponsored the rest… Not complaining about it but just needed to let you know that it costs a bit to put this type of event together and the need for EVERYONE to plan for it now…
Ideas for raising funds are also good. If you can find a sponsor, that would be GREAT! I, of course, will be working the sponsorship and other avenues of fund raising over the next 6 months as well to try and minimize the cost for everyone.
Now for the necessities. Please go to the sticky in this forum and follow the directions there… If you do not follow those directions, your submission will be rejected. I am going to limit the roster to 20 members for the time being to develop a starting line up for offense and defense with a few to spell both sides. However, I will open it up again once we determine where we will be playing at this year.

I have suggested Cinncy as the game as it is in the midwest so guys like me and 'E' could drive no problem. Also I have a guarunteed game setup with guys I play with every saturday anyway.
If Cinncy isnt the desired place, u can still count in the best route runner in the history of 5''8 chubby guys who went to Brookhaven high school and once had a three way with a white AND a black chick.

It would be great to get some sponsors to help out to really lower the costs, we all need to put our heads together on that idea.
Looking at games on the west coast...only one is the raydahs. Ravens,Packers,Viqueens would be cool too. That Raider game would be a rough crowd though. Never hear great stuff from oponents fans after that one...not to mention not the best area. And depending on when they are played, that Packer game could be freezing! Viks at least play in a comfy 77 degree dome. The Ravens could be really good this year with Flacco, Rice, and Boldin. That team will be fun to watch this year. And FinO already spoke about Cincy. Who knows.
As for fundraising/sponsor ideas, I am thinking...the Miami Herald, or Sun-Sentinal. The latter is more likely. They could even write a good article/column out of it in the paper afterwards with all of our stories from the game we play, the actual game, and the stories from the trip itself. I would read that. And Boomer, CK, Con all have their Hyde source and are already in with them. So many people love what our thephins guy's are writing for them (viewership has to be up after reading all of the positive feedback in their comments sections after the articles), throwing some coin our way to help the cause would be nice (most likely a tax write-off as well). And it would be promoting their newspaper also...with good community karma. Hyde could even write the article.

Pending on what my school schedule looks like around the time you guys go to a game, I'd be down. A midwest game would be awesome, but it's understandable if people want to go to the West Coast. The Mall of America would be a pretty good experience for people... just to you know, get you guys to wind up in Minnesota lol.

Plus, I spoke to a coupld of my friends who are restaruant managers about the possibility of friends coming out for a sports weekend and reservations for a private area are easily taken care of.

Well I will definitely be at the RAVENS game as I am only 50 miles from their stadium... I will definitely be doing a tailgate with the other FINFANS in the area...
However, I think we should definitely consider the mid-west or west cost for this next trip so that us eastern boys can go out an learn them on technique and such!:yes::knucks:

They have some pretty good talent and are competitive but also play with sportsmanship, as alot of them(us) are either in our 30's or damn near close. So while its very physical there arent any cheap shots.
The one "catch" is they play here in Columbus wich is an hour and a half from Cinncy, but if the game(C2C) is on a Saturday I dont think it would be too big of a deal.
Some of us are in fairly decent driving range to Cincy so that could help with the costs and the fact that I have a house now and since their is little chance anyone else will live here with me at the time, I would have no problem having EVERYONE stay here to save on costs.

They have some pretty good talent and are competitive but also play with sportsmanship, as alot of them(us) are either in our 30's or damn near close. So while its very physical there arent any cheap shots.
The one "catch" is they play here in Columbus wich is an hour and a half from Cinncy, but if the game(C2C) is on a Saturday I dont think it would be too big of a deal.
Some of us are in fairly decent driving range to Cincy so that could help with the costs and the fact that I have a house now and since their is little chance anyone else will live here with me at the time, I would have no problem having EVERYONE stay here to save on costs.

I have played in the snow before. Playing wont be a factor just the rest of the time I am there. After the game in Miami....WoW I done for a week. I was like damn Lamar Smith wasnt kidding when he said he couldnt get out of bed! lol I think most of the team was pretty wrecked. Just dont rent a hotel room and pass out in the van after giving the waitress your room key...

I am very intersted in joining, but there are a couple of factors preventing me from commiting right now.
One is the financial commitment. That shouldn't be a big problem seeing as how I can get a very cheap flight through my work.
The second, I can't get into right now, but it could be the deal-breaker depending on the date.
So I don't want to fill out an application and take a spot if I can't commit 100% yet.

Problem is, that probably won't be resolved until the schedule is released and we have a firm date and location.

Ive QB'd before and can do an okay job, I pitched in High School so I can put it out there, how accurate? Well thats another story.:lol:
If it is Cincy I will begin a full scouting report on each of those players as far as who can make a play and who cant. They basically have 2 decent QB's one of them can run real well and throw, the other is a lefty with a cannon. As far as WR's go their is one kid who pretty much dominates (started for Warren Harding HS) he is small and quick (Sproles style) he is the real "threat" out there than we need to worry about. They (WE) always play against eachother so its not like we are playing vs a team that has years of chemistry.
They have some big beefy guys who frankly I dont want tackling me! Usually those guys are the 2 way lineman but I run lots intermediatte routes so they do ring my bell from time to time. But it is friendly.
Also the field is in good shape, cones are used for field markers and its measured out perfectly.
I realize it is about us hanging and having fun, but frankly I dont like losing so Im gonna do everything I can to help get US ready....
Thess are my peers but im playing for my Phins brothers i need you guys with me, you guys will be the difference on how high or low my head will hang many Saturdays after this....it is important to me.

Also, I spoke to the manager of my local Buffalo Wild Wings and he has promised to reserve tables for us to watch college football on Saturday before the Raiders/Dolphins game. Couldn't be truer. But what Sam hasn't said is how rough that game will be for everyone to attend! Now, don't get me wrong, I work out every day just for this kind of garbage, but 20 some finfans in a section is bound to get some action in the Coliseum. Right that down. I sent my stuff a few weeks ago, I'll re-send it again over the weekend. Hopefully the schedule works out in my favor and I can go... Sorry Skeet, I'm praying for a December game!

Wow, I didn't realize I was playing with a bunch of *******. Honestly, Raider fans are living on a well placed and organized myth. I have NEVER had a problem at a Raider game and I always wear my colors. I have nothing against Cincy, and will be attending that game as well, I just find it hilarious that you all are scared of Oakland fans. :lol:
Oh, and I guess now is the time to tell everyone that I have been in contact with my Raiders connections and was looking into getting a box for the game, mainly because I know how tender footed you all are about Raider games. I mentioned this to Lucky and Aqua a few months back. I'm going to go ahead and tell my contact to nix it and that I will just buy a couple of sideline tickets instead. :up:
And I resent that 5'6" chubby comment about all of us. I am 6'1" and chubby...huge difference. :shifty:

There are many fine sports bars to choose from, your BW3's is always nice...I would say Hooters but nothing is more annoying than trying to pay attention to whats going on and some hot 20 year old with a big chest pretending to like you so she can get a nice tip.
Either way you make it down let me know, me and my one phin fan from here will be going SOMEWHERE for the 1st round.

First Saturday out playing with our potential opponents, new guy this year a QB who had to play at a semi high level (not real sure) but he is pretty friggin good! Luckily we were teamed to together and he was putting the ball in perfect spots....
But the moral to the story is we just finished playing and I can barely walk! My fault for laying around the house all winter getting drunk and neglecting the gym.
Either way just some advice try and get into SOME shape before you get out there or you wont be able to get out of your seat to celebrate another Dolphins TD in Paul Brown Stadium.

I mean u dont have to be in great shape but atleast have some wind after a few plays (like I didnt)...we play iron man their for lack of players and I assume the C2C will have to aswell.
No need to go by any performance enhancing drugs just be ready to be a lil winded. :up:

I worked 61+ hours between Easter sunday and today, all of which were nights spent in a hotel. I'm not eating chips, but I definitely didn't work out this week either.

Since last june, i have been hittin the gym at least 5 times a week and have dropped 128 pounds so far and still counting. hopefully by the time the game comes around, i can be around 165-175 and hopefully by then i will have some muscle back. since i have lost most of my muscle mass.
As for the draft, i dont care where we go. I havent drank a beer in months. Stupid diet. It has been like 3 years since i have been to c-bus so it would be fun to visit the town again. ill get with you sometime this week to set up a place to meet.

LOL, I know. I guess ill have to trip them as they run by and jump on them. that might work.
I dont know what other position i could play. i havent played any other position because i have always been a heavy person until now. we'll figure something out.
